"Photographs of yachts". 38 albumen prints, approx. 17 x 21 cm, mounted on cardboard, numb., ms. English captions and contents. - Views of identified boats. John William Norie (1772-1843), was an English mathematician, hydrographer, chart maker and publisher of nautical books most famous for his "Epitome of Practical Navigation" (1805) which became a standard work on navigation. After Norie's death the company became Norie and Wilson.
