COQ WATCH, circa 1840-60, silver dial with guilloché motifs, two blued steel hands, hours with Roman numerals in a polished crown. escapement movement with meeting wheel, striking the hours and quarters, signed "Berthoud à Paris", chased cock protected by a brass dust cover bearing the signature. Key winding after opening the case back, time-setting by the dial. All in a silver 800/°°° case with curved glass.
The striking mechanism is operated by a key (not original).
Marked: Old man's head, province, second title.
