FIRST EDITION. Sigaud de La Fond (1730-1810), a follower of Abbé Nollet, was a professor at the Collège Louis le Grand and a pioneer in experimental physics. Some of his work, along with that of Macquer, inspired Lavoisier's research. Binding a little worn, headbands missing (Barbier I, 968).
