Paris, rue et hôtel Serpente, 1781. 2 vol. in-8 of [2]-4-493 and [2]-476-[4] pages, marbled basane, spine ribbed and decorated, red edges (contemporary binding). FIRST EDITION. Sigaud de La Fond (1730-1810), a follower of Abbé Nollet, was a professor at the Collège Louis le Grand and a pioneer in experimental physics. Some of his work, along with that of Macquer, inspired Lavoisier's research. Binding a little worn, headbands missing (Barbier I, 968).
