Contemporary full spotted tawny calf, cold fillet on covers, spine ribbed and decorated, red morocco title-papers. With a plan of each district. First edition of this work published between 1772 and 1775 in twenty fascicles, each devoted to a district of Paris, brought together in 1775 in 5 volumes. The edition is illustrated with 25 fold-out maps by Perrier, some in very large format, each bound at the end of its fascicle (Quarter 15 Saint-Antoine contains three large fold-out maps including Plan de la partie méridionale and Partie orientale, Quarter 16, Place Maubert: two plans: Septentrionale and Méridionale, Quarter 19, Luxembourg: 2 plans, 20th quarter, St Germain des Près: 2 plans). Complete with the alphabetical table of the XX parts of the Recherches sur Paris, and enriched with the Réponse de M. Jaillot... à quelques Lettres Critiques sur son Ouvrage.
