FORT Paul - [SCHMIED, F.-L.]. Les Balades françaises. Mountains, forests, plains, sea. Lyon, Cercle lyonnais du livre, (30 April) 1927. 1 vol. in-4. Full blue glazed calf, mosaic title on the first cover set in a subtle Art-deco stylized mosaic decoration, smooth spine, title and author gilt, endpapers and flyleaves decorated with a painted paper, blue calf framed with a gilt fillet, gilt head, covers and spine preserved, in a bordered slipcase [M. BENARD - 1928]. Illustrated with 56 colour compositions by F.-L. Schmied, including 26 full-page and 4 large vertical bands for the titles. They are wood-engraved in collaboration with Pierre Bouchet. Text framed by a gilt fillet with Art-Deco typographical motifs. Edition of 165 copies on Arches vellum paper, 120 of which are reserved for members. Nominative copy for Paul Goute. Complete with the list of members of the Cercle lyonnais du livre. Spine faded with stain.
