NOTE :
Saint Barbara was a third-century Christian martyr, venerated for her unshakeable faith in the face of persecution. According to tradition, her father locked her in a tower to prevent her from converting to Christianity. She is often depicted with a tower with three windows, symbolising the Trinity she confessed. Saint Barbara is invoked as a protector against storms, explosions and sudden death, particularly by firefighters, miners and artillerymen.
