NOTE :
- Décor inspired by an engraving by Marcantonio Raimondi circa 1510/1520,
based on a work by the painter Raphael.
- Pâris, a Trojan prince wearing a Phrygian cap, is appointed by the gods to judge the dispute between Hera (Juno), Athena (Minerva) and Aphrodite (Venus), and must decide which of the three goddesses
is the most beautiful. In his hand, he holds the golden apple given to him by Eris, goddess of discord. He chooses Aphrodite, Goddess of Love. Mercury can be seen on the left with his caduceus and winged helmet.
