Description
USM1 RCP helmet. Heavy helmet with movable bridges, welded chinstrap, OD canvas chinstrap, shell bearing lot number 934B. On the front of the helmet is a hand-painted white parachutist insignia, notably worn by the 1st RCP from 1945. Standard Firestone helmet, original OD3 canvas suspension and sweatband, rayon nape with two snaps snagged. Leather chinstrap with blackened brass buckle and United Carr rivet. The soldier has engraved his name Viallard on the back and the rank of sergeant is painted in white on the front. US M1 helmet of the RCP. Fixed-bale M1 steel helmet with front-seam rim and OD web chinstraps. Shell stamped with heat lot number 934B. Front painted by hand in white with the parachutist insignia notably used by the 1st RCP from 1945 onward. Firestone-produced liner with original OD3 web suspension and sweatband. Rayon neckband damaged around two snap fasteners. Leather chinstrap present with blackened brass buckle and United Carr rivets. Rear engraved with the soldier's name Viallard while the rank of sergeant is painted in white on the front.
