Description
The Namur Gate in Brussels. Pencil, 43,6 x 80,6 cm, several sheets of laid paper glued together, ms. note "Lamberti", titled, numb. 30 on verso (few sm. tears on edges, corner cut, few spots). - Monumental view from the side of Ixelles. A very similar drawing, attributed to Ferdinand-Joseph Derons (1700-1762), is at the Brussels City Museum. Given the smaller composition and less attention for detail in that sheet, it appears to be a copy after our drawing. - Ref. Cp. collections.heritage.brussels/nl/objects/51109. - A.
