The death of the Virgin. Etching, drypoint, 40,9 x 31,1 cm, wove paper, signed, dated, grey wash by later hand (some spots). - Large impressive composition. From the original plate etched by Rembrandt in 1639. Later impression of the 4th state with the plate reworked, but before many contours redrawn (such as the stairs) and many shadowy areas reworked (such as the area around St John).
