Coastal view in Normandy. Oil on canvas, laid down on panel, 55,5 x 82,1 cm (visible), signed. - Large fine marine painting with cliffs and a village in the background. Alexey Petrovich Bogolyubov (1824-1896) was a Russian marine officer and artist, who travelled across Europe and had a studio in Paris. Numerous of his paintings are in Saint Petersburg (State Russian Museum), but he als painted frescoes in the Russian Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Paris and his view on the Eiffel Tower at night is at the Musée Carnavalet (inv. P2154).
