Photo album: "Illuminations de Bruxelles". 10 silver prints, 17 x 22 cm, mounted on cardboard with windows framed by an Art Nouveau decorative motif, printed captions, company logo on the endsheets. - Views of the illuminations in the streets and on the buildings of Brussels: the central boulevards (from "Gare du Nord" to "Gare du Midi"), the surrounding boulevards (from the old Observatory to Koekelberg) and the Grand-Place with the Town Hall and the "Maison du Roi". This album was published to mark the Celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of National Independence, commemorating the national jubilee and also linked to the rise of the Belgian electrical industry. The photographs show the electric illuminations featuring various designs, intended to highlight the technical achievements. This project was designed by the architects P. Saintenoy and H. Vaes, and the work was carried out by the company B.E.L.B. (Belgian Electric Lighting Boards) under the supervision of Mr De Mot, Mayor of Brussels. - Joined: a copy of a text containing the press reviews of this successful event at that time. - -
