Description
Antique Belgian studio bellows camera. Wood, brass and glass, 125 x 70 x 52 cm, Belgian manufacturer's plaque in front "V. Spanoghe/Fabricant/Bruxelles", crank handle, lens Voigtländer & Sohn/Braunschweig. - Victor Pierre Spanoghe (1863-1938) was the father-in-law of Emile Sergysels (known as an architectural photographer) and a cabinetmaker-carpenter specialising in photographic equipment. He had a knack for choosing and using wood that did not "move" (...) His precision was astonishing". - Ref.
