Complaint and new revelations addressed by the filles de joie of Paris to the congregation, against the ordinance of Mr Mangin, which forbids them to circulate in the streets to offer their charms to passers-by [...]. By a matron, jurisconsult... In-8°: 38-[1] pp. ; 1 h.-t. (dampstaining, russeting and marg. tears rest. to front, some russeting to title). - One of the most important libelles published around this ordinance, published on 22 May 1830. Illustrated with a front colour lithograph by Gentilhomme caricaturing the "Comité central et de sabbat des donzelles de Paris". Contains numerous anecdotes and interesting information on the world of prostitution at the time. - Prov. Walter Liening (bookplate). - Joint, 3 other pamphlets on the same subject published the same year, same place and format: 1. Complainte et réclamation d'une de ces demoiselles, à l'occasion de certaine ordonnance attentatoire à la liberté individuelle; suivie de Manon misanthrope ou Ah! faut-il qu'un homm' soit cochon.
