Brabant Tales [...]. Illustrations by Messrs De Groux, de Schampheleer, Duwée, Félicien Rops, Van Camp & Otto von Thoren engraved by William Brown. In-8°. - First edition illustrated with 8 woodcuts, 2 of which after Rops ("Christus" and "Les masques"; cf. Mascha 261-262, Exsteens 1172) who felt that Brown had spoiled his illustrations. Complete with the leaflet announcing the works [published by Parent] contained in fine copies with chocolate brown covers with gilt frames (there are some with blue covers: cf. Grisay, in: Le livre & l'estampe, 1963, n° 35, pp. 229-233). Sumptuous binding in the Romantic style by the Brussels master Charles De Samblanx.
