In-12: [28 incl. front]-308 pp. (lightly and evenly browned, minor spotting and/or wormholes on margins in last third). - Counterfeit of the Elzevirian edition of 1645, actually issued from the presses of Janssonius in Amsterdam. Translated from the Spanish ("Epítome genealógico del Duque de Richelieu y discursos políticos", Pamplona, 1641) by François de Grenaille (original ed. of the trans.: P., 1645), this text defending religious freedom under cover of a panegyric of Richelieu is attributed to a Portuguese author (1608-1652), consul in Rouen and then Paris, who died a victim of the Inquisition.
