Last songs from my first book. First edition decorated with twenty-four compositions by Steinlen. Gr. in-4°. - First edition of this complement to "La chanson des Gueux" published the same year. Ill. with 24 compositions including 1 front and 23 in-text. Limited edition of 300 copies, among 28 in large in-4° format reprinted, one of 25 on old japon (n° 17 in the name of Rudolf baron de Simolin) containing 1 charcoal sketch signed by Steinlen and 1 suite of all the engravings on chine. - Prov. Baron Rudolf von Simolin (1885-1945), German art collector (nominative ex.). - Joint, same publisher and format: Goethe, Johann Wolfgang von - Le roi des aulnes. Erlkönig. Ballad by Goethe and music by Schubert. New translation by Catulle Mendès, decorated with thirteen colour compositions by Bellery-Desfontaines. Engraving by Ernest Florian. 1904 (Rouss. to 1st ff. and justif.). Marbled paper in shades of green (slight spotting), illus. cover on boards, in matching slipcase (some edges split). Beautifully illustrated in colour, Schubert's score ornamented "in the style of antiphonaries". 1/200 (of 214 copies) on vellum (No. 17). Enriched with: a suite on chine of the colour decomposition of 9 large compositions, monochrome and polychrome proofs,- 4 pages of a cancelled test print,- illustrated prospectus of the edition.
