Eve's song. First words. The temptation. The mistake. Twilight. Lithographs by Jos. Boùùaert. Gr. in-8°. - Deluxe edition illustrated with lithographs in and outside the text, including 1 portrait and 11 hors-texte in sanguine; text framed by a sanguine fillet. Edition of 150 numbered copies, one of 90 on japon reserved for members (n° 37 for Édouard Hochstadter), with a suite of hors-texte plates in black. A very richly illustrated copy with: - a suite of watercoloured hors-texte plates,- a silk print of the hors-texte plates on pp. 64 and 114,- 5 postcards or LAS, dated 1923, some flying, from the illustrator Boùùaert to Édouard Hochstadter in which he talks about the illustrations, the proofs and their printings (in particular the one on silk), Boùùaert also asks his opinion on the printing of the last hors-texte, with which he is satisfied, and that of his colleagues in the Society,- 1 dact. letter from the printer Gooss. from the printer Goossens to Hochstadter, 1924, about the special design for the endpapers and slipcase and another set of proofs of the designs,- 1 c.p. from Van Lerberghe to a "dear Gaspar" from whom he asked for the loan of catalogues from Tussaud's New Gallery,- 1 large titled and illustrated volant tracing,- 1 tracing of the identical vign. for the title and cover accompanied by a small card in which Boùùaert states that this type of tracing is done only exceptionally,- a preparatory drawing for the hors-texte on p. 105,- the rejected 1st state of the hors-texte on p. 17,- 2 prints (in black and sanguine) of the finished 1st proof before correction to the eyes and shading to the flesh of the same hors-texte,- the accepted 1st proof of the hors-texte on p. 21,- decorated paper of the publisher's folder (2 ff.),- a loose print of the portrait,- prospectus of the loose work. - Prov.
