Le/ cirque/ du/ Congo/ belge/ De Jonghe. Colour lithograph, 32.4 x 36 cm (green and horiz. folds flattened). - During the inter-war period, the De Jonghe circus was the largest circus in Belgium. After the death of the founder's son, Joseph De Jonghe, the circus left for the Congo in 1952, where it organised tours from Matadi and criss-crossed the colony for 5 months. - Van den Abeele, "Ekoki!
