The Brussels World Fair and royal visits to the Congo. 20 silver prints, 12 x 16 cm and 13 x 18 cm, some mss. notes on the back and photographer's stamp "Photo L'Epi. F. Devolder. Bruxelles" and 60 advertising photographic vignettes (stamp on back). - 6 views of the Brussels World Fair (1935): planetarium, colonial theatre, Solvay pavilions, food, Congo pavilion with the "statue of an African elephant" by Belgian sculptor Albéric Colin, now kept at the AfricaMuseum in Tervuren,- 13 views of the commemoration of the monument in honour of General Émile Wangermée (1855-1924), engineer officer in the Belgian army and vice-governor of the Independent State of the Congo, first governor of the province of Katanga and founder of the town of Elisabethville (now Lubumbashi) in 1910-1911, in the presence of King Albert I and Queen Elisabeth, in the Congo in 1928. - 1 large silver print from the Office central des colons au Congo, c. 1930,- 60 images of young King Bauduoin's first visit to the Congo in 1955, vignettes for Lacsia dairy products, Wespelaar. Following this visit, André Cauvin made a documentary film entitled "Bwana Kitoko" (Our Lord). - Enclosed: Reproduction of an old photograph and model of a publication on Africa on transparent film.
