Colour lithograph, 98.0 x 61.0 cm, signed in stone (flattened horiz. fold, small min. tear and folds to edges). - Poster by Belgian artist André Poffé (1911-1990) for the Brussels Colonial Fair. The event is an annual literary fair that showcases literary works from the Belgian colonies, such as popular tales of the Baluba people written by Benoit Nyengele, an autobiographical article by Raphaël Mutombo, a scrapbook of press cuttings from the newspaper l'Étoile recounting the story of Chief Samba-a-Kya-Buta, founder of the Kinda kingdom, etc. - Ref.
