"China by land and water. 4to obl.: 30 photogravures, 18,4 x 13,2 cm, mounted on green paper, tonal variations, English captions on the mount. - A series of Vandyck photogravures illustrating the picturesque aspect of Chinese life and surroundings. Donald Mennie (1875-1944) was a Scottish amateur photographer and an entrepreneur in China where he worked for the publisher A.S. Watson. He published his photographs in Pictorialist style in souvenir photobooks.
