Autograph note with framed lithographed portrait. Autograph: ± 6 x 7 cm on sight; litho: 28 x 25 cm on sight (traces of folds and light stains very marg. to the note). - Unsigned note attributed to Talleyrand: "je vois le despotisme affermi d'age en age/ des souverains ligués paternel heritage,/ conspirateur antique, armé contre nos droits/ ravir au genre humain l'esperance des lois"; verso: "écrit le 5 avril 1832 au Foreign Office la nuit à 11 1/2" (mention d'un archiviste selon la note en italien collée au verso du cadre). The portrait, lithographed in pencil by L. Zöllner after C.C. Vogel von Vogelstein, is dated London, 26 June 1834. - Prov. Autograph given by Princess Antoine Radziwill née Marie de Castellane (1840-1915), a famous French woman of letters and memoirist, to Antonio di Robilant; the portrait belonged to Count Antonio Nomis de Pollone (1799-1866), a Turin politician, and was kept for over a century at the Vigna di Sassi in Turin (notes in Italian signed J. and Rene di Robilant, Turin, 1963 and 1967).
