Description
Quarters of nobility of Jean d'Ennetières, adviser and finance clerk to Archduke Albert, and his companion Dame Françoise Vandenberghe, collated from the altar table donated by them in 1624 to the church of Saint-Nicolas in Tournai. 60 x 48 cm, in French, brown ink on watermarked laid paper, coat of arms enhanced with watercolour, aut. signatures and secret seal under paper of the bailiwick of Tournai (traces of folds with a few tiny holes in the central vertical fold, traces of mounting on verso with slight browning on recto). - Collation illustrated with a large, carefully executed drawing reproducing the altar with the sketched painting and the coat of arms in colour, certified a.o. by J.F.A. de Rijcke and L.F.J. Delerue, royal notaries in Tournai, countersigned by B. de Hults, clerk of the town bailiwick.
