Theatrum mortis humanae [...]. 4to: [8 incl. front]-255 pp. (quire R (pp. 129-136) missing, some min. staining and spotting, front. loose, tiny hole in bl. margin I3, tear in upper blank margin Bb3, tear in upper blank margin Ii2, edges frayed). - Very rare first and only edition of the "Danse macabre" of Valvasor ill. with a front. and numerous in-text engravings by Johann Koch after Holbein and Andreas Trost, each within a different border decorated with flowers and animals. Here in the title variant without "Cum" (VD17). The work is divided into 3 parts: "Der Toden-Tanz", "Underschiedliche Todts-Gattungen" and "Der Verdambten Höllen-Peyn/vorstellend".
