Sigaud de la Fond [...]. 3 vols. 4to; 65 pl. fold. table (text n.c., front. missing, lower bl. marg. of titles cut off (presuambly to cancel old ms. entry), sm. marg. dampst. at top of inner gutter of vol. 2, occ. spotting). - Translation of one of the best 18th-c. introductions to Newtonian physics by the Dutch scientist van Musschenbroek (1692-1761), loaded with experiments and problems. The translator was the distinguished French experimental physicist and professor Joseph-Aignan Sigaud de Lafond (1730-1810). Ill. with 65 folding plates, numb. 1-64 with 11bis, the last one being the map "Tabula totius orbis terrarum, exhibens declinationes magneticas [...]", after E.
