Description
Manufacture of Saint-Clément (Lorraine). Very rare "Mandarin" shaped hand candlestick with crenellated edges in white-blue glazed earthenware decorated with flowers and insects. Handwritten signature in blue "St Cnt". Years 1870-1880. 10 x 14.5 x high. 14 cm high. Very minor chips, stopper missing.
Presented in 2012 at the Château de Lunéville at the exhibition "Faïences en lumière - Les productions de Lunéville Saint-Clément"; reproduced in the catalogue p. 35.
