Description
Manufacture of Saint-Clément (Lorraine). A set of four polychrome enamelled earthenware pieces comprising a large ribbed vase with neo-Renaissance decoration (soldier and coat of arms, 35 cm high, a chip restored to the neck); a small covered vase on a foot, with a three-lobed handle, in imitation of Renaissance productions (high. 25 cm, signed KG for Keller et Guérin); a small cloverleaf-shaped pocket dish decorated with a landscape (17.5 x 18 cm); and an astonishing shaped piece consisting of three pots joined together to form a jardiniere or bottle-holder decorated with a landscape and a couple of peasants (height 19.5 cm). Handwritten abbreviated signatures of the maker on all the pieces. Late 19th century. Very rare minor accidents. A cigar-holder with Egyptian decoration (length 15.5 cm, accidents). Provenance: Geneviève Aubry collection (1948-2025), Rosières-aux-Salines.
