Description
Charles LEMANCEAU (1905-1980) for the manufacture of Saint-Clément (Lorraine), Edouard Fenal period. Art Deco subject representing a squirrel on a pine branch. Cracked white glazed earthenware, signed on the terrace. Stamped in green "St Clément made in France". Circa 1920-1930. Height 30.5 cm. Modest chips and scratches.
Exhibited at the Musée de Sarreguemines, from 21 October 2011 to 29 January 2012, as part of the exhibition "Art Déco - La céramique de Lorraine, 1919-1939" (n°Saint-Clément 1) and reproduced in the catalogue p. 64 (full page) and p. 146.
