Description
Charles LEMANCEAU (1905-1980) for the Saint-Clément factory (Lorraine), Edouard Fenal period. Large Art Deco subject representing a fox on the prowl. Black glazed earthenware, signed on the terrace. Not stamped. Circa 1940-1950. Length 76 cm. Modest chips to some edges of the terrace.
Exhibited at the Musée de Sarreguemines, from 21 October 2011 to 29 January 2012, as part of the exhibition "Art Déco - La céramique de Lorraine, 1919-1939" (n°Saint-Clément 7) and reproduced in the catalogue p. 147.
