ORLEANS / "LES FILS CHARVET" - ( * ) large medal of honour 1957, 68 mm. "CHARLET et Cie" 2 views, above: coal storage and filled wagons; below: 19th century steam locomotive with driving personnel, vintage 1832. Reverse: "LES FILS CHARVET" 2 coats of arms and port quay with cargo ship and crane unloading coal. Date 1957. - signed by R. Joly. Bronze and horn hallmarks on the edge. 138,96 gr, in its original wooden and velvet case -L/A n° 1704 a -SUP ( * ) Important fuel traders (coal, coke for blast furnaces). Founded in 1832 in Lyon, the company took part in the saga of the railway in the 19th century, which enabled it to facilitate the transport of coal. Throughout France, the company had several crushing sites for the manufacture of balls and briquettes under the L.F.C. brand - Charvet had its warehouses in CERCOTTES and sales outlets at 6 place De Gaulle and 21 Fg Saint Jean in Orléans.
