Brown and gold glazed earthenware flared vase with relief decoration of a heraldic salamander surrounded by flames under a crown, and a large fleur-de-lys.
Handwritten enamel signature on reverse, circa 1890.
Interesting vase inspired by the Renaissance and the salamander, the heraldic symbol of François I, and the inclusions of gold spangles used by the artist in his creations on glassware.
