Description
* Émile GALLÉ (1846-1904). Superb stanniferous earthenware stoup with a Lorraine cross, decorated with polychrome and gilded enamels in the style of Byzantine cloisonné enamels and numbered "AM" on an oval-shaped wall plaque in stained wood with an engraved decoration of 12 Lorraine crosses. Handwritten signature enamelled and engraved in the decoration, circa 1876. D. stoup: 36 × 16.5 cm. Total diameter with base: 43 × 21 cm. Magnificent neo-medieval and neo-Byzantine decoration with the Christic or Rosicrucian symbol of the mystical pelican feeding its children with its blood by piercing its heart.
