* Émile GALLÉ (1846-1904).
Stanniferous earthenware cornet vase with polychrome enamelled painted decoration of a beggar in the style of Jacques Callot's characters.
Enamelled signature and stamp on the reverse Saint-Clément, circa 1880.
H. 30 cm high.
Remake by Emile Gallé of a print published in Paris by the publisher and print merchant Israël Henriet of the Suite des Gueux ou les Bohémiens et les Mendiants published around 1622 by Jacques Callot: it is precisely the beggar woman receiving charity.
