A stanniferous earthenware bowl with a fleurdelysé royal crown and polychrome painted decoration of a child with the words "Bébé nain du Roy de Pologne" and the date 1750.
Enamelled signature painted on the reverse, circa 1880.

This is Nicolas Ferry (1741-1764) known as Bébé, the famous dwarf of the court of King Stanislas Leszcinski, deposed King of Poland, Duke of Lorraine and Bar, father-in-law of Louis XV.
