Description
* Émile GALLÉ (1846-1904). Enamelled earthenware jug with polychrome decoration and gold highlights of a winter landscape; the body of the jug retaining its Louis XVI shape is marbled and gilded with a flowering branch in the round. Signed and stamped on the reverse, circa 1885. H. 16.5 cm. (Small enamel chips around the rim and restorations) Beautiful work of research with winter decor evoking the landscapes of the Barbizon school and Japanese snowy prints.
