Description
* Émile GALLÉ (1846-1904). A very rare vase with a lenticular body and a side handle in the shape of a gnarled pine branch, treated in Japanese-style stylised trompe l'oeil. It is made of tin-glazed earthenware with a polychrome enamelled decoration, with gold and painted highlights, of a landscape with a river and a castle on one side, and a naturalistic floral composition on the other. Enamelled signature and stamp on reverse, circa 1885. H. 16 cm.
