* Charles CHRISTOFLE (1805-1863). The Harvester or Ceres, after the model of Mathurin MOREAU. Solid silver sculpture 925‰, forming an agricultural trophy on a circular moulded red marble base, also decorated with finely chased silver plaques decorated with a cow and a herd of sheep. The goddess is standing holding a bunch of ears of wheat. Signed on the terrace edge: Christofle orfèvres, with the firm's silver hallmark. Minerve hallmark, first title for each element. Total height: 60 cm. Carving height: 36.5 cm. Gross weight of silver with marble base: 7,900 g. NET weight of the silver sculpture: 1,821 g. An identical harvester is in the collections of the Petit Palais in Paris, inv. no. ODUT1827.
