Fine silky Cesaree carpet in mercerised cotton velvet on cotton backing. Pale bluish-grey field decorated with scrolls, palmettes, flowers and stylised foliage adorned with a central ivory and orange medallion with a star-shaped diamond crown. Four spandrels decorated in the same way as the central medallion. Five borders, the main one beige with interlacing stylized ruby flower bulbs. Asia Minor, TURKEY, circa 1965.
