This is the story of a shared passion, that of a couple of enthusiasts who, over several decades, have brought together with curiosity, high standards and enthusiasm a collection entirely dedicated to the world of cars.
This collection, patiently built up, traces the evolution of motoring culture through its objects, images and symbols. It includes a wealth of specialised documentation, numerous works of art, some in limited editions, and a complete collection of period magazines and catalogues.
The sale also unveils a remarkable collection of around eighty painted or enamelled plaques, illustrating the major brands and names that have inspired generations: Esso, Marchal, Michelin, Shell, Solex, Total, Yacco, etc. These icons are surrounded by a multitude of advertising objects, pin-ups with a strong character, a whimsical Esso theme with Monsieur and Madame Goutte d'Huile, not to mention beautiful posters and radiator grille plaques celebrating the golden age of the automobile.
More than just a collection of objects, this collection tells the story of a life of passion, marked by curiosity, transmission and admiration for a mechanical and graphic universe that continues to fascinate.
