A Collector’s Wine Cellar in Nîmes The Soul of the South This collection reflects a passion nurtured with patience, curiosity and conviction. A discerning wine lover and attentive taster, this Nîmes-based collector has built up his cellar over the decades, prioritising above all the quality and character of the wines, far removed from passing fads. His choices have naturally centred on the great names of French viticulture, with a notable presence of the finest estates from Bordeaux and Burgundy. But this cellar also bears witness to a true discoverer’s flair: many of today’s most sought-after estates found their place here long before they achieved international recognition, when only a handful of discerning connoisseurs had already sensed their potential. Deeply attached to his southern roots, he has given a special place to the great wines of the South of France. The Rhône Valley and the Languedoc are thus admirably represented through a discerning selection of iconic estates and cuvées that have achieved cult status. Among the most remarkable collections are some superb vertical tastings from Henri Bonneau, Domaine de Trévallon, La Grange des Pères and the ‘Petite Sibérie’ cuvée from Clos des Fées. To highlight their exceptional character, these series have been grouped together in a specific section of the catalogue and are numbered consecutively, separately from the auction’s traditional numbering system. Due to the scale of the collection, the sale will take place in three separate sessions spread over three days. You will find the detailed breakdown of the catalogue below. --- Following a sale in Marseille, two sales organised by Pierre Bergé & Associés in Paris, one sale at Millon, one at Il Ponte in Milan and one at the Galerie Moderne in Brussels, Millon Auction Group concludes its European Grand Tour with the sale of this remarkable wine collection.
