Estate of Jean Chassany: collector and restorer of French furniture. ON-SITE SALE: The entire contents of his furniture storage facility at Château-la-Vallière. Sale without reserve. Antique furniture: Master craftsman’s pieces, chests of drawers and writing desks from the Louis XV, Louis XVI and Napoleon III periods, period-style furniture, large 18th-century wardrobes, Louis XV–Louis XVI transitional armchairs, Louis XVI cabriolet armchairs, a set of armchairs, a Restoration-style console table and pedestal table, part of an Empire-style dining set, easels including a double-sided one, and a gate-leg dining table. Design and 20th Century: Flat-top desk designed by Gianni Moscatelli, ‘Swan-Elephant’ ashtray inspired by Salvador Dalí, crafted by Teissonnier in Limoges for Air India, coffee table by La Fagoterie, works by Jean-Jacques de Mailly, painting by Hector Trotin, sculptures by Christian Quenault, large dining tables and contemporary chairs, display cabinet. Collectors’ items: Postcards, African art, silver chalice and paten, sulphides, clock movement, Christ. Professional equipment: Storage units, workbench, trolley and various tools, workshop lamp, wine cooler.
