Terms of sale

The Rotary Club of Saint-Malo Dinard has organised a charity event bringing together artists to raise funds for the SNSM to mark the start of the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe race. That is why we are organising a public charity auction of works by painters from Guadeloupe and mainland France, exhibiting their work, offering it for sale and donating a large proportion of the proceeds to the SNSM. The project is entitled ‘LES TOILES DU LARGE’. Thirty-nine artists took part in the event, which is set against the backdrop of a map of the North Atlantic. These artists have rallied in support of the skippers taking part in the race and those who save lives at sea, thereby fostering a genuine connection between those who create, those who set sail and those who save. Some contribute their talent and courage, whilst others save lives and strive to embody solidarity at sea. Getting involved in this initiative means supporting a cause directly linked to the region’s maritime identity, whilst taking part in a cultural and charitable event that brings people together. The objectives: - To raise a significant sum for the SNSM - To honour sea rescuers and their commitment - To rally artists around a common cause - To bring together businesses, patrons, local authorities and residents of the region - To raise the profile of the work carried out by Rotary Saint Malo Dinard - To create an event with the potential to become a regular charity fixture The programme: - The catalogue of works will be on display at the Hôtel de l’Univers, Place CHATEAUBRIAND in Saint-Malo from 20 October, featuring a brief introduction to each artist. - The public exhibition will take place on 26 and 28 October at the Hôtel de l’Univers, - The auction evening will be hosted by Stéphane PRENVEILLE, a licensed auctioneer from EMERAUDE ENCHERES OVV, who will welcome guests, the presentation of the initiative and the sale of the works on 28 October 2026 at 6.00 pm at the Hôtel de l’Univers in Saint-Malo. Funding: - This is provided by the Rotary Club of Saint-Malo Dinard. A portion of the proceeds will be used to cover the costs incurred. - The proceeds from the sale of the artworks will be divided: part will be paid to the artists for their work and collaboration, and part will go to the SNSM (Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer) to support their rescue and safety operations at sea. - And, where possible, additional donations from the public and contributions from local businesses.
