Some countries may prohibit the issue of documents for reasons specific to their legislation. These formalities must be carried out by the buyer and remain at his expense. BEFORE THE SALE Estimates are indicative only Estimates are provided for information only. Any bid within the range of the low estimate and the high estimate has a reasonable chance of success. However, we advise you to consult us before the sale as estimates are subject to change. The estimates in the sale catalogue do not include the buyer's commission. The highest and last bidder will be the successful bidder. In the event of a dispute at the time of the auction, i.e. if it is established that two or more bidders have simultaneously made an equivalent bid, either aloud, by sign or by internet, and are claiming the item at the same time, after the word "adjudged" has been pronounced, the said item will immediately be put back up for sale at the price proposed by the bidders and all members of the public present will be admitted to bid again. ORDERS TO BUY If you are unable to attend the sale we will be happy to execute purchase orders given in writing in your name. You will be asked to provide us with a copy of an identity document and a bank statement. This service is free and confidential. Lots are bought at the best price, respecting the reserve price and other bids. In the case of identical orders, the first to arrive will have preference. Always specify a limit that must not be exceeded; unlimited bids or bids "at any price" will not be accepted. Buy orders are a facility for clients. Right of pre-emption The French State may exercise its right of pre-emption on any public sale of works of art by making a declaration to the Minister of Culture as soon as the item for sale has been put up for auction. The State has fifteen days from the date of the public sale to confirm that it has exercised its right of pre-emption. In the event of confirmation, the State is subrogated to the successful bidder. Personal information As part of its activities, ARTESIA collects personal data.
