PAYMENT OF THE PURCHASE PRICE AND AUCTION FEES
The sale is conducted on a cash basis and in euros.
Any person bidding undertakes to pay personally and immediately the hammer price plus the costs payable by the purchaser and any taxes or duties that may be due. The successful bidder must immediately provide or confirm their identity and bank details.
In addition to the hammer price, the successful bidder (buyer) must pay a buyer’s premium per lot.
The buyer’s premium is 30% inclusive of VAT (i.e. 25% exclusive of VAT).
For example: if the lot is sold for €1,000, the successful bidder must pay a total of €1,300.
In addition to the hammer price and the buyer’s premium, additional taxes and duties may be payable.
The buyer must pay a surcharge of 1.5% for lots sold via DROUOT DIGITAL.
For lots marked with one or two asterisks (*), VAT at a rate of 5.5% (*) or 20% (**) on the total hammer price and sales charges is payable, unless exempt. It is the responsibility of bidders to enquire about the applicable VAT before the sale.
VAT collected in respect of sales fees or VAT collected in respect of the temporary importation of the lot may be refunded to the successful bidder within one month of the sale upon presentation of documents proving the export of the purchased lot.
For lots marked with the symbol (#), the resale right in favour of artists who have been deceased for less than 70 years or their heirs (copyright) applies from a hammer price of €750 (excluding fees). The current rate is: 4% for amounts between €0 and €50,000, 1% for amounts between €50,000.01 and €200,000, 0.5% between €350,000.01 and €500,000, 0.25% for the bracket above €500,001, with a ceiling of €12,500.
