FOR ANY PURCHASE OF CATEGORY B OR C FIREARMS: The purchaser MUST present their identity card and a valid French hunting licence only (valid until 2026/2027) or a valid French shooting licence only. Category B or C firearms will only be issued following a check against the FINIADA database. Holders of a hunting licence must have created their SIA account. If the purchaser of a Category C firearm is listed in the FINIADA register, the sale will automatically be deemed void. Foreign nationals who do not hold these documents must be represented by a French gunsmith for the purchase.

Category B: firearms subject to prefectural authorisation.
