172. Attributed to Chanel, Haute Couture collection, Autumn–Winter 1927. Short evening dress entirely embroidered with gold tubular beads.
Round neckline with wide straps, sleeveless, low-waisted effect created by an asymmetrical horizontal band, asymmetrical hem; worn with a matching scarf. (some old repairs to the beads, small holes, very slight signs of wear)
Our dress bears a resemblance to the dress displayed at the NGV, Melbourne, during the ‘Chanel’ exhibition in 2021, part of the Chanel Heritage collection in Paris.
