Michel Hertz (1933–2022) – Set of 3 Orientalist pastels depicting oases in North Africa. Michel Hertz (1933–2022) was a French artist honoured by the State as an Official Painter to the Navy (accredited in 1977, appointed in 1997). His institutional work has been subject to rigorous selection processes and featured in leading official exhibitions: _ Salons de la Marine: Regular participation in these state exhibitions organised at the Musée national de la Marine in Paris. _ National Assembly: Selected for the collective exhibition of the Peintres de la Marine at the Palais Bourbon in 2001. _ 46th Salon de la Marine (2026): Honoured posthumously at the Musée de la Marine for the exhibition marking the 400th anniversary of the French Navy (‘400 Years of Art and Combat’).
