BRONZE HORSE HEAD Greek or Hellenistic art, 3rd century BC. A horse’s head depicted with its mouth open and nostrils flaring; the modelling and anatomy are rendered with great realism, and the mane is engraved in parallel strands. At the base of the neck, four holes for securing the head, possibly to a larger equestrian group.
