Description
Isnard P. F.: General Survey of the Uniforms of All the Troops of France, representedby one man from each regiment wearing the uniform prescribed by the new regulations issued by the King concerning the attire of his troops on 21 February 1779 Strasbourg, published by Henri Heitz, 1779; 169 coloured plates. A rare collection reprinted by Paul Roullau in 1949/1950, twelve copies. The woodcuts were engraved from the originals by L. Prots; the colouring was carried out by Émile Grangier and Raymond Pillas based on the copy held in the National Library. A copy inscribed to Mr Armand Gritton, bearing his bookplate. A fine copy bound by Lavaux in fawn leather, with raised bands on the spine and gilt edging. Very good condition.
